Although it's a huge letdown when compared to the timeless original, Devil May Cry 2 is still a solid and enjoyable 3D action game. + Intuitive gameplay with plenty of cool upgrades and abilities. + Decent amount of replay value. + Memorable boss fights. - Vast environments don't complement the gameplay very well.

Devil May Cry is, together with Vagrant Story, the most overrated video game in history SO FAR, yes, because while there are games that can be considered even more overrated, like Metal Gear Solid 2, or Ocarina of Time, at least those are still excellent games, something that certainly can`t be said about these two infamous monstrosities.

Devil May Cry 2 isn't like Big Rigs, where you can treat the game like a joke and have 15 minutes of fun. DMC2 is just an outright joke with no punchline, and this was intentional on Capcom's part. The director of the original Devil May Cry was actually designing Resident Evil 3, but made it too action oriented.
